  注意保持主语一致

  分词所指的主语与主句的主语要一致，且看以下例句：

  1）Walking slowly down the road, he saw a woman accompanied by two children.

  walking的主语是he，与主句的主语he一致。

  如果walking所指的主语是women，则该句就要变成以下形式：

  He saw a woman, accompanied by two children, walking slowly down the road.

  2）On arriving in Chicago, he was met at the station by his friends.

  arriving的主语是he，与主句的主语he一致。如果这个句子写成以下形式则指代不明：

  On arriving in Chicago, his friends met him at the station.

  3）

  正确：A soldier of proved valor, he was entrusted with the defense of the city.

  错误：A soldier of proved valor, they entrusted him with the defense of the city.

  4）

  正确：Young and inexperienced, I thought the task easy.

  错误：Young and inexperienced, the task seemed easy to me.

  5）

  正确：Without a friend to counsel him, he found the temptation irresistible.

  错误：Without a friend to counsel him, the temptation proved irresistible.

  医学论文里的比较句式就要注意这个问题，简单地说就是：组（group）跟组（group）比较，参数（serum xxx level）跟参数（serum xxx level）比较。

  妥当：Compared with group B, group A had a significantly increased serum xxx level.

  不妥：Compared with group B, the serum xxx level of group A was significantly increased.

  妥当：Compared with that of group B, the serum xxx level of group A was significantly increased.
