论文英语表达的几个细节问题

  1. 缩写（如：Fig.）和阿拉伯数字（如：8）不能放在句首，如果放在句首就应该写全称（如：Figure）和英文（如：Eight）。

  2. 不要写“by this way”，而是写“by doing this”或“using this method”.

  3. 不要在句首写“How to…”

  No： How to find the optimal parameter is the main objective.

  Yes：Determining how to find the optimal parameter is the main objective.

  4. 写“the results are shown in Figure 2.”不要写“the results are showed as Figure 2.”

  5. 文中出现的变量用斜体表示，以区别于其他单词，尤其变量是英文字母的时候，如：“The graph shows t, a, and C as a function of time.”中的t, a, C要用斜体。

  6. 在论文里不要像如下这样使用“obviously”

  No： Obviously, detecting regimes by means of PMH maps is a novel method.

  Yes：Detecting regimes by means of PMH maps is a novel method.

  7. 不要使用模糊的地点名词，如“at home”、“abroad”、“here”、“our country”，因为读者来自各个国家，所以要写具体的地点，如“in China”.

  8. 避免过多使用“that is to say”和“namely”，尽量用一句话来表达意思。

  9. 尽量不要在句尾用“too”。
