The American Chestnut is a critically endangered tree that once made up 35%of the forests of the Eastern US before being devastated by a blight thatdestroyed up to 4 billion American Chestnut trees.

Candollea（半年刊）. Candollea is an international peer-reviewed journal that publishes original scientific papers, preferably in English but also in French. Spanish language manuscripts will be evaluated only if linked to scientific projects involving the Conservatoire et Jardin botaniques de Genève. Successful submissions will be in the fields of evolution, molecular systematics, morphology-anatomy, nomenclature, taxonomy, or vegetation analyses of plants. Reviews and articles on the history of botanical collections are welcome. New distribution records lacking pertinent analyses will not be considered. Manuscripts dealing with nomenclature alone will be considered only if clearly related to the Geneva library or herbarium (G). Authors are encouraged to deposit duplicates of their material, especially nomenclatural types, at G.

The Bryologist《苔藓植物学家》（季刊）. The Bryologist is an international journal devoted to all aspects of bryology and lichenology, and we welcome reviews, research papers and short communications from all members of American Bryological and Lichenological Society (ABLS). We also publish lists of current literature, book reviews and news items about members and event. All back issues of the journal are maintained electronically. The first issue of The Bryologist was published in 1898, with the formation of the Society.
